Woah, another blog for July 2009?? The ball must be rolling on this one. Ha ha. On the third week of August the Vancity Theatre will be screening an movie I was in called ‘Seeds’. The film was recently accepted in the ‘Rhode Island International Film Festival’ that will be held on August 4th to August 9th. We were asked to join the ‘Going Miles’ tour. The tour was founded by Dakota House, ‘Miles’ stands for motivating, inspiring, leading, empowering and succeeding. Some of the people that are part of the ‘Going Miles’ team includes radio host/mc Doug Bedard, hip hop group Reddnation, radio host Suzette Amaya, hip hop MC Nashashia Cardinal from Eloquence and of course actor Dakota House.

Q’orianka Kilcher recently asked us to help her out with her most newest project for an organization called ‘Walking the Healing Path’. This project is to help raise awareness against domestic abuse on reservations. I will keep you posted on the project once it’s in the works. You may know Q’orianka from the movie called ‘The New World’ where she plays the lead Pocahontas.

An album by Moka Only called ‘Lowdown Suite 2: The Box’ came out in stores last June. I’m on the album cover, hopefully you can pick up a copy of the album to support the talented hip hop artist & producer.
Shannon and I will be starting to ‘Video Blog’ soon so you will all get more frequent updates on what we are doing. I know we have been neglecting our Myspace and blogging but I think video blogging will be easy and quick and at least you can get quicker updates on what we are up to.

The ‘BT Girl 2009 Calendar’ is still available for sale. You can purchase your autographed copy at www.thebtgirls.com for only $10.00. Speaking of BT Girls, Inez Jasper’s ‘Stolo Stong’ song is number 1 on the national aboriginal top 30 countdown. Please vote for her right now for the best album cover design, best new atist, best pop CD, best producer/engineer and single of the year at www.aboriginalpeopleschoice.com

We will be going to the ‘No Doubt’ concert this week at the GM place. Sooo excited, I’m such a huge fan. I’m also excited to report that my girlfriend Rosette will be opening for Akon at the GM place on Saturday, July 19th! Go Rosette go!!!

I’m a little sunburnt right now from my camping trip up north. I completely forgot the days are so much longer up north then it is in Vancouver. There is only 3 hours of darkness. Soooo, I got a little bit burnt. I went to the ‘Kincolith Crab Music Festival’ hosted by the Nisga people. I had so much fun.

We started shooting the ‘BT Guy 2010/2011 Calendar’ and we are still looking for models. So far, our list include Nathaniel Arcand, John Kervel, Taionnaih Akubal, Kenneth Schmidt, Justin Rain and Robert Guthrie. You can apply online at http://www.thebtguys.com. Speaking of calendars, we are winners of the ‘2009 BC Hydro Business Entrepreneurial Award’ for the sixteen month ‘BT Girls 2009 Native American Women’s Calendar’. The calendars are still be purchased online for only $10.00.

I made the agency move! My new acting agency is with Kelly James and Tania London at ‘Entourage Talent’.

Shannon and I are going to be on the cover of New York based ‘Stunner Baby Magazine. Pick up the next issue! Canadians, you can pick the magazine in Chapters or Indigo stores.

We were both casted in a new TV Series called ‘Tales of an Urban Indian’. We filmed the pilot back in February. Hopefully you already joined the new facebook group. Cast includes Darrell Dennis, Graham Green, Carmen Moore, Tantoo Cardinal, Katya Garder and Paul Bae.

I filmed an independent film called ‘Dreamcatcher’ this past spring with Shannon. The trailer should be released soon. Two music videos that I’m featured in is on rotation on Much Music right now. ‘Kool Runnin’ by Joey Stylez and ‘Starfish’ by Moka Only.

There is going to be an article on ‘The Baker Twins’ in the next issue of the ‘Indigenous Times Newspaper’. I’m not too sure where you can pick up copies. It’s a Saskatchewan based newspaper.

On July 16th we will be facilitating our ‘Self Esteem’ workshop for the ‘Native Education College’ in Vancouver. On August 8th we will be modeling in the ‘Bee the Change Eco-Friendly Fashion Show’ and on August 22nd and 23rd we will be speaking at a conference in Toronto, ON for our ‘Entertainment as a Business Workshop’ and ‘Self Esteem’ Workshop.
