The zipper is a horrible ride.
Saturday, August 29th, 2009For the past 2 months I was I was locked out of my Facebook account. Seriously, it was weird. It made me realize the severity of my obsession with that network. I just re-joined that facebook internet cult yesterday so I’m slowly going through my facebook messages and replying.
The YouTube page for ‘Baker Twin Video Blogging’ has finally been created. We will update it as frequent as possible, in fact, I actually just finished uploading two videos from when we were in Penticton a couple weeks ago. Here are the two video links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dg2JzjmBoFg and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Vtc43BHmNw
My summer has been quite relaxing. I went to Kamloops to meet up with my Uncle Willy, Gramma and little cousin Levi Baker at the Kamloopa Pow Wow. While I was there I went to my friend Joshua August’s birthday party. He has a little brother that looks EXACTLY like him. It’s like he has a twin but instead of being minutes apart they are years apart. At least if Joshua needs a young boy to play the younger version of himself in movies (Joshua is an actor), the casting director wouldn’t have any trouble finding someone.
Shannon and I went to Penticton to help host the PeachFest event at the Aboriginal Cultural Village. We stayed at this beautiful loft at the Apex Mountain Resort. It was defiantly a scary drive up the mountain, but a beautiful drive regardless. (Shannon almost ran over a squirrel) One of our ‘BT Girls’ Maddy McCallum was metis jig dancing at this event. She is seriously the most amazing dancer. All you youth conference coordinators, hire this girl for workshops. She’s incredible.
At the Peachfest Shannon and I got to ride on the ‘Zipper’ at the fair. Let me tell you, I will never ever go on that ride with Shannon ever again. She started to have a panic attack on the ride she seriously was hyperventilating. I thought that if I talked to her in a soothing voice she would calm down but instead it made the situation worse. When the ride was finished the zipper operator let everyone off the ride except for Shannon and I. The second time around on that ride was even worse, her emotions started to affect me. She kept on saying ‘We are going to die, we are going to die’ over and over again and eventually I started to believe her towards the end of the ride. It was a horrible, horrible experience. When we finally got off the zipper the the operator said “How did you like the ride? I made it extra long for you!” Shannon was not happy, but I thanked him anyway.
Next week we are going to Calgary for a magazine photoshoot at a ranch. I haven’t been to Calgary since I was a child, it should be fun then we are going to Saskatoon for the ‘Aboriginal Music Festival’.
My little cousin Mikey LaPointe comes into Vancouver tomorrow, I’m excited about hanging out with him. Well, that’s how my summer has been so far….
XOXO
